My little sister

Contributed by lifefadingaway on Wednesday, 3rd December 2008 @ 07:22:36 AM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

From the corners off the class
You were waiting for the time to pass
Whilst you stood in the center of attention
All you missed was a little affection
The guys, they were the worst of all
Passing remarks as you walked down the hall
'Whore' and 'slut' whispered under their breath
Your past mistakes had you wanting you'd be dead
At the corners of the school
They referenced to you as the fool
Standing in the center of attention
All you needed was a little affection

You ran away, tears in your eyes
Could no longer pull up this disguise
The boys with the comments passing by
All you wanted was to get away, to hide
You knew the mistakes made were hard to forget
You couldn't have swallowed yourself in regret
Keeping strong to the point of breaking down
Can't set another safe step in this town
Whilst your laughter at home sounds empty and hollow
The others don't see it, the others just follow

Without any shame about who you are now
This to me is an unbreakable vow
That as long as we're family, as long we're alive
Your safety is something for which I'll strive
My little sister, know that I care
When friends let you down, your families still there
