Carolina of the Sea

Contributed by Rali_Shayne on Wednesday, 3rd December 2008 @ 12:25:53 PM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

Of all the things which I ever dreamt to be,
Never have I flown on wings which roam free,
nor lived endlessly bold to beseech my destiny.
But I have known love and bottomless beauty.
My heroine and mistress; the Carolina of the sea.

She crashes upon rocky southeastern shores
eroding daily discoveries that children explore
and reforming land where lovers ever implore.
The greatest poetic of all God did dream to be
The cunning blue angel, my Carolina of the sea.

Under night skies she flows; black and dangerous
Tempting the hearts of men who live adventurous.
Building a tide that breaks truth upon all amorous
An uncompromising wild lover romancing eternally
God's most inviting creation; his Carolina of the sea.

after your 2 previous fantastic writes, i had high expections upon reading this one...and you delivered, big time. this was a sensational 3 stanzas of beautiful description and glorious rhyme. i was captivated by every word, especially the truly majestic final stanza. if you continue producing poetry of this standard i am certain that you will become one of the most revered poets on this site. i await your next poem with much anticipation, keep up the excellent work,

-a very impressed phil
