Beat
Boom of the tuba
Beat is music
Flutter of the flute
Music is beat
Everything in-between
In the classroom
Pencils tapping
We breathe
Breath-rhythm
Interrupted by fear
Calm down
Breathe right
Beat keep me occupied
I tap my pencil
Rhythm takes over
My feet begin to move
Heel-toe
Heel-toe
My hands become eager
They hit the desk
Two hits with the right hand
Then one with the left
Over and again
Beat begins to flow
Smiles come alive
I now emrace
THE BEAT!
