Got The Better Of Me

Grief

We kissed, only once before, Eternity swept us away, Couldnt stand there, with the world at our feet, But it hurt more to leave than to stay. Pretend, for me; that you love me still, Allow the emeralds of your eyes to lie, Dont soothe me out of my mind-numbing grief, Let me feel it til the day that I die. Dreams that flicker in black and white, Your face, Technicolor, vivid and bright, Escape cannot be found from love, True loves dream doth fail heaven above, And I collapse into myself, a star, destined to die, Here in your arms, as your tears fall, the devastating raindrops you cry. Though I am gone, my heart still beats, from where it hangs, in your chest, For of me, it seems, that I am the worst, and you, my sweet, are the best.
