Nonchalant

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Wild daisies and roses scattered nonchalantly
along the hillsides nurtured by nearby river flow.
Off in distances unknown the bell of an old chapel rings.
An odd shared tune matched with the clatter and trains bellowing whistle blow.

Ah we spoke on the seasons and the wilds of nature.
The wilds of human nature, wilds of love soft and tender.
What an odd summer it turned out to be, a season unto its own.
The flora and fauna and soon the death of it all, so abrupt.

An unforgiving frost came early, adding to melancholy hearts.
Killing the crops, harvesting souls, covering a layer of parting in layers.
At that moment it hung in the air, so thick and silent all at once.
That you were gone and were not coming back, we all lost in frozen winds.

Wild daisies and roses scattered about nonchalantly upon the grave.
Just as they spread cross hillsides vast, now all dying soon and fading away.
An odd summer it was when we lost the sun, it covered with dark and gray.
It all ended abrupt when just as suddenly you slipped away.
