All We Could Have Been

Contributed by juliette on Saturday, 22nd March 2003 @ 05:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

Im smiling on the outside
Crying where this pain resides
Trying to hold on, just get on with my life.
I guess leaving was the right thing
But goodbye sounds such a lonely ring
And I hear that screen door slamming all night.

I wish I could sleep
Until you walk out of my dreams
Let me love a love thats real
Im so numb that I cant even feel
This touch that lingers on my skin
You keep haunting me from within
These walls of all we could have been.

Im trying to forget how we lived so recklessly
How I followed you anywhere, how for you I did everything
How I couldnt catch my breath before you thought of something new, we just had to do
Im struggling to erase those eyes that even now leave me mesmerized
It seems my soul has got you memorized, I loved you more than you ever realized
Cause I cant take a single step without running into you, will you ever let me loose?

I wish I could sleep
Until you walk out of my dreams
Let me love a love thats real
Im so numb that I cant even feel
This touch that lingers on my skin
You keep haunting me from within
These walls of all we could have been.

I really like this song ... especially those two lines -

You keep haunting me from within
These walls of all we could have been.

Well done... Jan
