jumping out of their skin
waiting for ten oclock
they start to form
this excuse for a line.
Clinic guards will let them in then
in sets of three.
Were theyll take doses of
their new addiction
under the watchful eyes of councilors
charged with its dispensing.
This to avoid palming doses for resale
on the streets.
Then up grading sale revenues to heroin,
forever and a day their drug of choice.
