I sit here awake
for hours it seems
with thoughts I can't shake
about american dreams
Whats with the fake
and their anti war schemes
Their lifes we should take
thier unamerican beings
"You think its not right
that we are at war
Why do we fight
what is this for"
We fight for our rights
weve been there before
We fight others fights
We will fight much more
If these fights you dont like
what do you live here for
Lets get one thing straight
This is america man
This war is our fate
its the american plan
This war you might hate
but to it Im a fan
Its not a debate
just america man
So now I ask this
"Do you love your life
Do you love where you live
Do you love your wife
Do you love what we give"
"Do you love this country
Do you love our rules
Do you love our money
Do you love our schools"
If the answer is yes
to any above
then you have been blessed
with a country of love
So why second guess
when push comes to shove
Stop your protests
And show our country some love

| Well composed, but the message and introductory sentences are quite forward. I can only say that I do not concur with particular sections, but, overall, well done. |

Nicely done. I do feel the protesting needs to stop.The bickering amoungst one another needs to stop and we need to pull together and support our president and our troops. Its pointless to protest something thats already on and our men and woman are over there dying now!! Thanks

Someone touched on Nam, well my husband served in Nam Im going to write a poem about the treatment our military recieved when they returned home from there . Right from a soldiers mouth.I wasn't going to get into all of this but now Im going to!! It was anti war protesters then also not backing our troops and never had a bit of respect for them when they came home. Noone wanted war then either. |

I am so glad that you added your views on Nam to this because I so fear that our troops will have that rejection to face all over again. For or against this war our service men and women are over there doing their jobs, doing what they feel is right for a country they love and cherish. I know I will welcome them back as heroes and not the murderers uneducated people who could never fill their shoes are portraying them as.

I absolutely love your poem. You managed to put into words exactly what I feel about this war and the protesters. I can't say much more, because if I get started I will make many enemies. Thanks for sharing.
