The Girl Let It Go To Far

A one time thing,
no strings attached.
Except for the strings
tearing me in half.

I thought I could be that girl,
who just throws it away with ease,
but all these complications unfurl,
and I'm so far from the girl I want to be.

I never expected to feel like I do,
and you can never know,
because I already promised you,
that no silly feelings would grow.

So here I sit with a smile so fake,
in a preformance where I'm the star,
getting ready for another take,
Of "The Girl Let It Go To Far".
