The Leap

Topic: InspirationalPoems

Candles everywhere; I can't count them all
Flickering lightly, casting shadows on the wall
Sweet rose petals, sprinkled on your sheet
What an amazing, beautiful sight to meet
You whisper, "You deserve more than this."
But you fall silent, as your cheek I kiss
"No I don't," I say, ignoring your taunt
"We are together; what more could I want?"
You look at me, love shining in your eyes
And the feeling of this nervousness subsides
I think I'm ready to give myself to you
And this time, don't make me regret what I do
I've been hurt, so many times before
And now I hear love knocking at my door
What will happen if I open up to you?
Will I find a love trusting; a love that's true?
I lay down, wrapped up in your arms tight
Knowing I have finally made my choice right
Love is a cliff, and wings aren't cheap
So I've made the decision...
I'm taking the leap.

You have done an awesome job here. Not only the sensual sensations, imagery, and flow, but also as you so appropriately state in the title, "The Leap" and that choice/decision to take it. You have definitely caught that life changing moment.

Very, very nicely done.

Thank you for an enjoyable read.

Tim
