I am setting sail today the visions in my mind
the rebellion that needs to be in the sea of humanity
cradling the intruder that has always been my enemy
folding my flag for the storm is about to come
The ways of the many are all in dire-straights
focused on the goals of the rich but quiet the voices of the few
everyone man has a idea to change the world
but one man will not even change his ways
we need to float in a sea of voices
all headed for the same goals
not the forced tranquillity of one groups dreams
we need to awaken the sleeper inside.
We all live on this tree of stories and insight
branches filled with knowledge and strength
we need to see that and gain power from unity
not to control for power or gain
corrupt hearts are not the answer
the needs of the rich are not the needs of the many
money is not the grace that we can hold
We need to break the habits of the past
the 60's were a time of drugs and sex
and look what beast they unleashed
drugs are a control to keep us depressed and low
to destroy our mind and body
to keep us from rising
to keep us in line or below it
This is a time for new questions
answers we all have but no one is willing to share
our tears have filled oceans
the stench of death is seeping threw the cracks
and the bars are surrounding the free
