Melody of rain dancing on the walks
running in currents down cement steps.
The darkness gathering round
and a candle flame dancing on darkened walls
mist and shadows all about
a desert feeling between four walls
and the lost moments of chance
and the wishes of what once was
longing for what could have been
and dreams wash away in the Washington rains
being washed over by pale of blue
melancholy nestles near the heart
and you do not want to give in
yet you do not know where to start.
It follows in the dreams
and blocks out the sun
and then it happens quickly
and fast as it had begun
Someone says something, so easily
teasing the midst of rain
words sweet words penetrating through the brain
and erasing all the angst
and worry from the start
and walks between the lines
and dances near your heart.
A kiss to carry with you wherever you go....
Know your thought of this moment
and when life is hurtful and slow
know that I am your friend
and I shall never leave
I will send it on the air
from a distance you will feel, see
you are never truly alone
even when the world seems amiss
and from this very spot
I shall seal it with a kiss
and you carry it with you wherever you go.

The context of your poem carries so much meaning. It catches the reader right in the heart and the imagery----oh my the imagery is the vividness of dreams.
"Melody of rain dancing on the walks
running in currents down cement steps."
If their is more encompassing imagery than what is quoted above... I never want to know.
