Evolution of Contentment

Contributed by Jilly on Tuesday, 25th March 2003 @ 05:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

The first time I looked at you
I saw just a man
As the weeks passed
when I looked at you
I saw an acquaintance
As the months passed
Being well acquainted with one another
Turned to friendship
Our friendship has grown
Its been more than a year
Shattered hearts
Have had time to heal
Now when I look at you
I see an incredible man
With convictions and morals
To match my own
You have evolved from being merely cute
To being irresistible to me
Being with you frees my spirit
When I am with you
I am content
Contentment laced with excitement

For the very first time I have actually voted stars for a poem and given this one five.

Normally I find myself avoiding "Student Traumatic Verse"( laced with blood, torn emotions, and suicide.)........but this is written by a really "sunshine soul".....Made my day!!!!!!

Thank you for your comment! Your choice of words("sunshine soul") made MY day! I make it a point to realize the blessings I have in my life as apposed to focussing on the misery. We all have the power to decide our, define and put our futures into action!! Thanks again!
