i loved you like the summer
the warm breeze that slithers
and cools you in heat
only to lift your spirit
i loved you like a flower
when no one was around
i loved you in secret
there was no other way around
i loved you like the seasons
repeatedly changing
a little rain, a thunder
a rose wrapped around a thorn
i loved you like a pet
serving endless needs
only to forgive the betrayal
wheeling continuously in need
while cutting through the chains
that bounded me so long
to a love like fairytale
ending in the dark
until the sun that rose, upon the blue sky
lifting the veil from my eyes
loving you endlessly
in a different light ...

This must come from someone who truly has a loving heart. It is a gift to see beyond fault and still love but a greater gift to see when loving can best be done free from enclosure.
