All the mistakes that I have made
All the things I've done that I haven't repaired
Those memories we know will fade
Standing closer to the edge than I ever dared
You're gone; I can't help but think
What if you leave; you don't come back this time
And you did abandon, before I could blink
Now I'm sitting here, cryin' as I write this rhyme...
And I don't blame you for not believing in me
But it's not my fault that all you can see
Are the dozens of places where I sliced my skin
When I tried and tried to keep from giving in
All the promises you broke
All the despair and sorrow you woke
And you left again, earlier today
And I realized I couldn't find the words to say...
I can't blame you for needing some time
But you left me alone with this mountain to climb
This life seems to precious, when your confidence shakes
And I don't really try, but I still seem to make all these mistakes.
