My friend

Contributed by chlois on Monday, 13th April 2009 @ 09:18:54 PM in AEST
Topic: self-harmpoetry

My only friend, sitting in my room.
There when i need comfort, helps release.
Listens to me and gives me what i need.
Calls to me when something is wrong.
Always with me, attach to me.
The cold sharp comfort, of my blade.

Your poem makes me think of sweeny todd because in the movie he calls his blade his friends but it's not the same he's harming others

Back to your poem itself I like it it's a great write but a sharp blade isn't your friend it is a tool which you are harming yourself with that isn't good. If you need a friend just ask

hope to read more soon

Writing is another form of comfort as well...

Your poem made something so complex into something so simple. It is a friend - no better way to describe it. But friends come and go, and one day we don't need old friends anymore. Until then, be safe.
