I woke up today with a sense of not belonging,
a empty feeling with nothing to gain or lose.
Getting out of bed i opened my window to grey skies,
no birds chirping seems everything is waiting for the storm.
Looking in the mirror i see the emptiness that hides behind my eyes,
the plastered smile i wear for the public view.
Turning on the television i see that same empty look,
nothing seems real when you do not feel real yourself.
I started to fill this day with better thoughts, i went to call the birds to sing me there song,
i asked the dirt to show me its secrets, but i have found only broken glass at my feet.
I closed my window and turned up the music, got back into bed afraid to face the day.
Forgetting what i saw in the mirror i imagined a world of true smiles and shinning eyes.
And shinning souls
