You presence halts all distractions Just you and me in our own soliloquy But the spotlight isn't for us
Another face appears Sorrow floods my heart like the memories we shared floods my mind You leave and the our time to shine is up
Alone on stage the audience awaits my next move Do I lay down and die Or do I suck your venom from my open wound
Your silhouette appears with that new face A face of treachery and deceit I see you reach for my hand
But instead you grab my heart and squeeze My love ebbs in between your fingertips Suddenly the passion is gone
Missing inside I wander the desert of your lies Vast and empty like all your promises All I have left to remember are these scars of a torrid love affair
