hold me forever
please, don't let go
i need you too badly
to do this alone
kisses and hugs
and nothing more
are enough to keep me
from ever walking out the door
i'll cherish your words,
support all your wishes,
and try hard to pretend
that nothing is missing
touch me and whisper
comforting things in my ear
i promise you i'll believe
whatever i hear
lies are enough to keep me
in your arms secure
because my confidence is becoming
quickly obscure
so pretend with me
forever or never
that this is real
that this is true
try to ignore what it might actually do

I can relate. I have felt like this. When one of my ex's told me that he didn't love me anymore I asked him if there was anything I could do to change his mind. Looking back on it it seems like such a stupid question becuase you can't make someone love you but it was so hard to hear.
Great poem, I am glad you shared it with us.
