To our soldiers

Contributed by kims4ever on Thursday, 27th March 2003 @ 12:25:00 AM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

The patriots hearts are the first to break, when a war begins and they partake,
In this world when lives are at stake, treachery is among you like a poisonous snake,
The world spins around over and over, like a childrens toy,
But the way we are looked down upon, is like a little boy,
This world is like a mother, except it is spiteful and cold,
We have fought many wars for her, from patiotism to sins of old,
Some fight for the right reasons, others seek to rule all,
But when there is war to be had, who makes the call?
There is no point in killing, but it has purpose yet,
To defend our country, to fight to the death,
The worlds recent actions, from the war on iraq,
Are anything but surprising, for they stabbed us in our back,
The brave soldiers who fight our wars, die for what is right,
The ones who make the sacrifice, for ridding us of our blight,
War is not an extravigant thing, from all the pain and despair,
From all the lost loves who served thier dues, and left us unprepaired,
For all the soldiers out there today, I thank you heart and soul,
For defending our country from this terrible threat, for caring about us all.

My sentiments also. To all those brave and noble service people who are placed in harm's way and defend our freedom and way of life. Our eternal gratitude, our undying love.
Thank you all and God Bless them.

I love this and I think the soldiers need to read this. I think it's sad that they have to take people away from there familys.
