Our islands they met, we washed up on shore I was needy, and greedy and wanting for more
You were as close to reality, as my dreams ever got I knew it was you, after which I did sought
The mornings, the evenings, your ran through my mind We talked long and often, our thoughts intertwined
At first I refused, to believe it was love Then I gave up, and push came to shove
The days seemed too short, then nights seemed too long Never enough time, to enjoy our song
From you, I understand, it was not our time But for that short while, our bells did chime
I'll be your lover, but can't be your friend The sadness is great, seeming without end
You're gone for now, I don't know where Until then I'll be, somewhere out there
