Dying for a cause so noble, in a fight we could not lose Could you ever forgive me for making you choose? In a war that lasted so long you could not see The end of the beauty you once saw in me
The lure and the pull of your furtive philosophy If only I could count the ways.. You say you dont believe in me when Im here With you, and Ill be here long after the end of days
You can strike me down; Ill get back up You took from me and I couldnt adjust To better places said the faces I couldnt see Why cant they still be where they belong with me?
Im sure its trite to argue the inevitability of life How a son loses his sister and a father his wife But youre so happy to have the faith and convictions Youre blind to real life existence
