The fragililty of Tranquility

Walking along the river Seeing beauty at every turn, I sensed a sweet serenity As my heart did truly burn.
Birds were flying carefree High up in the blue, Enjoying the sunshine it seemed, Warming each wing so new.
Daffodils, like trumpets of gold Appeared to dance in the breeze, And a fleet of Mallards swam Beneath Weeping Willow trees.
Suddenly, out of the blue, A jet fighter screamed overhead And left a ringing in my ears And my nerves hung on a thread.
Next, a juggernaut thundered Along the road nearby Causing me to let out A very irritated sigh.
Just then a fire-engines siren Blurted out its raucous noise Alerting all to make way For those heroic boys.
This fast-paced world too soon Will snatch away our peace, So, we need to savour each minute Before lifes stresses increase.
