You Keep Me Breathing

Contributed by MoonlightKiss on Monday, 8th June 2009 @ 03:29:39 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Cold stares, whispers as I pass
Keep my eyes ahead and go to class
Because they know how different I am
And I try hard not to give a damn...
Ours is a struggle; a secret to keep
Why hide something so beautiful; a love so deep?
The answer; they just don't understand
No matter how we try, some never can...

For you, I will take every chance
With you, I will have that last dance
I know what we have is true
That's all that matters; I still have you...
Your presence keeps me breathing; gives me life
And you say, someday, I will be your wife
I cry, sitting at home all alone
And all I can manage is to stay on the phone
So complicated, I can hardly bear to stand
But I manage to, as you hold my hand
The people who hate us, they say it is wrong
But you whisper the lyrics to my heart's song...

Not sure how we'll hide for so long
All I know is this's where I belong
Separated from you; here's a sadness I never knew
So alone; please tell me that you feel it too!
Together, they look so down upon us
Try to ignore it, because you're who I trust
There is nothing wrong with our affection
Love knows no sex; it's your heart's selection
And because my heart picked you
I can't love another, whatever I do.

Trying to hurt myself, but then I think of you
Can't continue what I was about to do
You are the reason
That my heart's still beating
You are the motivation
That keeps me breathing.

In ... and out.

Inhale ... and exhale.
