anguished

I heard he wished upon the stars, He wished for the world to close its eyes. A world within his own, a world so fragile, Ignored by the benevolent ones. Corrupt divinity shines in his eyes, The moths inspect his peculiar light, Witnessing the deterioration of his soul. His feelings are scattered on black canvas, Painted with the fragments of his unspoken truth. A mural of his inner demon, self-proclaimed Nephilim. His heart burned away with the rest of him, Leaving behind a shallow shell of a man, Fragile as a withered rose that no one dares to break.
