I look outside the window
The sun shines all around me
I wish that I could be out there
Where grass is green and skies are blue

I'm sad, I'm lonely, and hopeless
I don't know where to turn
My friends walked out the front door
A long, long time ago

But now I walk
Down the stairs to see
That the front door is open just for me
I've never seen it open before
I guess it's been that way
And I've just never seen

My father walks through the door
I said where have you been
He said I've been here since you where born
But you where drenched in sin

Come with me my child
It's never too late to come home
I've been waiting here for a while
While you've been all alone

But now I walk
Down the stairs to see
That the front door is open just for me
I've never seen it open before
I guess it's been that way
And I've just never seen
