Where I Belong

I stand and look, from lofty peak
Oh such emotion, I cannot speak
For there is my valley, where I was born
It stands at the end, of a promising dawn
It's a scene that fills, my heart with pride
Where courage, beauty, stand side by side
Green rolling mountains, reach to the sky
As if in silent prayer, to him on high
Now stilled mines, a dark silhouette
A lasting monument, to blood, tears, sweat
To those still entombed, in a coffin of coal
Courage a password, in that hungry black hole
But brave Rhondda, found time to rejoice
As songs from hearts, resounded in voice
This land of my fathers, that is home to me
There is nowhere else, I would rather be
My heart is here, in this land of song
My Rhondda Valley, where I belong
