Just when I was beginning to think
That the pieces were falling in place
Just when I thought the clouds were shifting
So the sun could shine on my face
Just when I was feeling excited and happy
Cos things were going my way
Fate played its hand in the deal
And decided to ruin my day
Disappointment cascaded over me
And sadness clouded my eyes
I immediately dressed myself in despair
And burdened the world with my sighs
My happiness was snuffed in an instant
And I was about to fall to the plight
When my brain had a change of opinion
And decided to stand tall and fight
I took a deep breath, preparing for battle
Ignoring the powers that be
I chose to no longer cower to chance
It will not have one over me!
Gone were the waiting and wishing and hoping
From now on I make my own plans!
I gathered my courage and took full control
My destiny lies in my hands!
