Melting into insanity with Prose

I dreamt of you again dear prose
you crept into my slumber
causing commotions and r-e-m
then suddenly very abruptly
I awoke thinking I had lost you
the ghost my ghost of prose.
You followed me throughout the day,
I ran outside I hid behind the weeping tree
though there was no hiding
you were in my head, my thoughts
I tried to no avail to shake you out
but you kept haunting me
daring me to give in.
I only do what the voices in my head tell me to.
You the daunting task I try to escape
my free will is fleeting
you overtake me once more
or did I fully rid you?
No, you slipped inside my pen
poisoned my ink
suffocated my thoughts
I sit melting with you
in the hot summer sun.
Note: Prose is difficult to write, anyone with the know
who has suggestions for help please do so, I would love to rock out some awesome prose one day!

Ah the writer's dilemma! Being driven to write is one thing, and then there's the little voice that wants to know why you think you can. The sad thing is there's really no concrete advice anyone can give you apart from "just write!" The best tutor is experience; I'm sure whatever prose you write will rock as much as your poetry...
** Not that I "know" anything about prose: I've tried and abandoned it many times.
