anguished

The wind raged against my being Thrashing pieces of a weary soul into The unknown
Sad and silent Waiting for God to whisper from the heavens Waiting, weighted All the seasons that have come Only to wither or grow old, used What do I have? A plea filling the canvas of stars above Billowing out of a frail woman Like gray smoke that causes one to choke and gag Her anger flutters, then sprouts into something gross Righteous anger, fury and contempt Floating out of her lips like bricks Heavy, she shrieks to the spirit Whines, taunts, wails To no avail She is left, sad and silent Screeches of remembrance stirring within Frightened at the prospect of freedom She is now a woman of heavy fury; weighted and waiting
