What is this? And you give, surrounded by faces Alone in the sea of friends Voices sometimes lie, 'You are my perfume.'
Words we mean, But cannot say, visit again Even now, these voices, old friends As a friend, but deeper Do not, I can not, I will not
What happened? Why? to me? Protection offered not Is washing dirty hair the same As washing fear from someone's feet Resting on the shoulder of comfort not found in sleep
Do you feel the same? Be, as You were, to me, for me And You give Yourself away- Do I pretend to give when really I only take And hate, I am real
Where is love? This pain has a name, and it is loneliness Long for a kiss, love for a kiss Pretend to love, too long, my friend And I give my self away...
And You give Friends know before you ask The answer is a cry for a hug, or a fight I am a stranger And You give Yourself away.
