I know I must have hurt you
But I didn't think I had
My mind was numb
My heart was hurt
What could I do but run?
I open up out to the world
For them to break and tear
This hollow shell
My empty being
I've never been so scared.
Why do you judge my worthless soul?
Why must you scream at all?
I cannot bear
This heavy load
I can't stop me when I fall.
The tears I've hid inside myself
Pour from my eyes with pain
I do not feel
I cannot call
It's yelling out my name.
An emptiness so overrun
I have nothing left to lose
When all we are
And all we've done
Is breaking me in two.
A peace inside that only comes
Once you have been alone
To live and learn
And become nothing
Mistakes are overthrown.
The One whose chains I must accept
Has carried me this far
He never leaves
Has never hurt
How blessed these losses are!
