"Beauty" is arrogance, its guilt of which is proved by association
[with]--Art, virtue's harbinger--[and] with the blade by which
the accountable heart is cleft, its ventricles torn from one another
(the organ, by words, in metaphor: it bleeds; while images:
may be defined by the visceral splinter that remains),
and we: are anesthetized, our ulcerated insides, cauterized, and we find
ourselves, at once, and at last, drained: move on, our wound
--which, after all, was never clearly defined-- our astrictive sacrifice.
