I throw away my sense of you and I. I strip down to my pride and point to the sky. Dropping to my knees i hold the cross around my neck. 'God why am i so tired, why am i so ill'. Heavy burdens based on the shoulders of a castaway. A throwaway on the run-way of the airport. Waiting for a plane to fly over. Just to feel a inch closer to home.
Im not far away from the lights in the distance in my eyes. Tears arent on the agender as I punch the gravel on floor. I cant take the pain no more so I get on my feet. Which begs a bigger question when will i rest for that final sleep. I am a divided but not halfed, not drawn and quatered. I just stare in the endless darkness.
Im lost in the open But no signs point to me no more And the directions are no longer helpful If i could run i would. Slipping into. Deep to the quick sand. Giving my last Cpt's salute i stand. The wind wispers past my ear. With it's words so clear. 'I'm not going to forget you It's sad watching your heroes get old So move on yonder And find your calling'.
I didnt move.
