The danger of not knowing

Contributed by thesweetestsin65 on Wednesday, 12th August 2009 @ 06:27:01 PM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

You walk with strength, grace, and pride,
Denying the emotions youre trying to hide.
Some days you feel as if youre not good enough
Like the only way you can survive is by acting this tough.
But I know most days youre lost and scared
I know youre on your own but youre unprepared.
Its hard to change from the monster you are
Especially sine youve already done it before.
But that girl who changed you from the monster you were
Is the same one that made you change back into a monster once more.
So here you are, nothing to lose, nothing to do but chase the speed.
That needle, that pipe, that heroine, that weed,
People believe you think thats all you need.
But behind closed doors you hit the floor,
Scream at the ceiling you dont want to live anymore.
Go to the closet, grab the gun,
Curse yourself for not giving life a good run.
Aim the gun straight at your head,
Ask for forgiveness as you lay down on your bed.
Pull the trigger, but the gun doesnt fire,
Out of breath, you didnt know how much energy this would require.
Take it as a sign from god above,
That life is something youre worthy of.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
