I'm Just So Scared of Withdrawal...

Contributed by amber_vonhorror on Thursday, 13th August 2009 @ 04:59:37 AM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

I know. I know. I know I need to replace the cells
That ache to taste that poison serum
I know I know I need to jitter
And to sick the fibres of me that need
heroin to breathe

And I know I know I know
I have to lay in bed for days
Shiver in the warmth
Take no drugs for the pain

I know I know I know
I have to balm my itchy skin
And only use my nails
Try to push away the syringe
And I know I have to shake.
And bleed. Force my tired lungs
To remember to breathe
I know I will have to cry
I know,
And I'm scared. I'm scared to try.
I'm scared to know what my life will be like
I'm scared to let go, and let
my body take control
I'm scared that I'll fail
I'm scared of the pain, I'm scared of being sick
For the rest of these days

My cells, dehydrated. Calling
They're pleading with me for just one more.

you are brave and beautiful and cherished
this child of the poem
from fear and pain often comes the beggining
of a new life. like giving birth.
from that pain and fear you will give life
to your new self and a poem of joy.
you are all my poems.
you are every poem
