Humanity is a parade of fools
This is nothing new
I'm in front line leading the way
We are consumed by our greed
By the simple needs
That plagues us in life
Evil plagues this world
The parade goes on and on
Heading toward each new dawn
Never to end
Foolish acts we descend
Onto a new low in life
Our parade goes on forever
Will it ever see its ways?
Will we stop wasting our days?
Lies, greed, sex, drugs, death
Each has there own section in the parade
As for me I'm in front leading the way
I descend us down
I'm the biggest fool of the all
Leading the parade of fools to the edge
Soon we'll all fall

Was ever thus. a good ryhming sequence, a great line "... I lead the way" yes we are all complicit in the downward spiral & I agree it goes on forever.

Carl Sandburg wrote a poem along these lines entitled"I was the First of the fools"
