That all too familiar feeling returns And attacks my soul My body feels like a tired husk There is a gaping hole in my chest My mouth, turned down in sadness My eyes, blank without hope And that voice that lay dormant In the dark recesses of my mind During that period of sweet intoxication During that period where you were all I saw During that period where I thought "Maybe this time I will find love" Once again that voice comes forward Embittered with being sent back Angered at being locked away Because I was happy The haggard voice speaks But with a tone that implies he is smirking "I told you so" "You wouldn't listen when I was screaming at you from my prison" "You wouldn't listen" "But I told you" "I told you that the happiness would be shortlived"
