In the beginning we thought it would be harmless to be
Together as one, just you and me
But the games we both played
Left us both blinded and dismayed
Unable to commit
Unable to trust
Our relationship was based on nothing but lust
Wanting each other for all the wrong reasons
Changing our minds like the forever shifting seasons
Unwilling to see past each others mistakes
Unwilling to do what ever it takes
Wishing that we could actually be
Was only a silly fantasy
While we just sit there unable to face
Letting another person stand in our place
Ignorant arguments lead to pointless fights
Fights that lead to nothing but neglected nights
Missing each other
Wondering why we couldnt get past our hard headed ways
Hating each other for only a couple of days
Now time has mended
The truth that we constantly bended
Here we are just better than before
Trying to unlock a new door
With our lives sticking us back together
Making us friends
Friends forever
