Topic: fictional

left alone with burning desire
after many years of passionate love,
and this crave that burns
now sweeps feelings all over,
remaining for only
short periods of time
and engulfs despairing clouds
as blinding light of hope
seeps into hearts,
the warmth of lost lovers
lie within bleeding souls.

she blesses, and comes again
briefly into lives
with closed eyes
to dream a dream in the night
to see her standing at end of beds,
watching her brush her hair
as she turns to the window
to dance,
the moonlight shines
as her spotlight
and her soul
(her elegant shadow)
moves with such grace
in dreams.

when starlight comes
departed souls of life
are left alone beneath lost hope
to wonder: is this soul a lost link?
love remains true to her.

the wishes, the prayers whispered,
the hope held in hearts
to kiss her again
tonight by blazing fires,
while here alone
waiting to see her
with closed eyes
to dream of her
many dreams.

she lifts her arms
to dancing shadows
upon ceilings cast
in golden light;
she moves to music
of her soul,
the song of her,
a melody to make
tears while she spins
through dreams,
her rhythmic soul
begins to take control
of rapidly beating hearts.

so the world goes on spinning,
hearts remain in glowing beats
of love that shall begin
the true nature of forgiveness,
but shall never know
how to start over again.

still tonight,
seeing through shadows,
glancing at true inner light,
believing to be more
than more can be,
her strength brings belief
through so much matted neglect,
how to remember
watching her sleep
with morning dawn
shining upon her skin
ah such mundane thoughts
raise wishes of hope
that become
only simple dreams.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
