She dies One moment she is here And then she... Disappears There is love to give But none to bestow it on The love sits in my chest Stagnant Time will help it slowly evaporate Becoming the air Becoming the clouds Becoming the stars That love will rise high above Where I know she is running free Free from pain
Back on Earth There is pain for me The love that is gone Leaves behind a hole A void A void that I have lived with And know how to live with It is a part of me And I accept it I see the others though They are different I watch them struggle They can't set the love free They don't want to feel the void So they seek to replace her straight away To fill the void To repair the hole in their heart To transfer the love that is currently... Stagnant

Good stuff. Though for some reason I feel like I want to hear the second stanza before the first. Then again, dealing with the celestial situation before the Earthly one is an interesting approach.
I know some people would think it silly to mourn a dead pet too much, but I realise the attachment we have to our pets can be as great as, if not greater than, a lot of interpersonal attachments. A lot of pets (maybe not goldfish) have too much personality to be replaced by another pet. You sound very mature in your grieving. |

You've drawn out and placed here your very heart; full and bleeding.
Losing a pet is indeed no different from losing a friend or family
member. And it is just as difficult to deal with.
Grief is actually a good thing. It reminds us that we loved and were
loved. Your words give credence to this and (may I boldly say) help
in coping with that loss. Very emotive, this write. I hope your days
become easier.
be well,
~ Breezy
