God please show me
What i'm supposed to do
Because you know I love him
But we're about to be through

I just wanted to be loved
And for the love not to hurt
But what was I expecting
All guys treat me like dirt

Many times, women will choose a man who is abusive because of their own low self esteem, or because they were abused by their father/father figure.

In order to avoid abusive relationships (mind, sometimes they just happen) you should perhaps reflect on what it is that attracts you to the men you choose, and maybe evaluate your own self esteem.

I wish you the best but most importantly get out! I did the same thing, you just have to gather up and go.

So sorry you are going through this.
Find a good support group! It will do wonders.

Hugs
Michelle

Hi there,

Hope you don't mind a comment from a man?

Am assuming physical as well as mental abuse?
It's not a 'man' you know - he ceased to be a man
the moment the abuse started. No DECENT man
abuses those who love him.

This may not be apparent to you at the moment,
but there are more decent males out there than
those who darkly prey on the vulnerable.
Be strong!

Tommy

I like how succinct that was. No extraneous bits in that poem - it delivers its message and then GTFO.

The pain of severing ties with an abuser is lot less than the pain of maintaining the abusive relationship. You'll forget him soon enough. Focus on yourself more, when you next start a relationship. Identify your needs - your REAL needs - and make sure you're getting something positive out of the relationship. There's a lot of dirtbag guys out there, I admit, but if you're willing to not put up with them then you'll find there's some good ones too.

Oh dear. *Phil feels guilty for being a guy*

I genuinely want to say something profound and moving, but I'm not sure what. All I can say is that any man who hits a woman is a despicable monster who should have his heart ripped out.

totally agree with phil, and i am a guy. There is one problem though, phil, and that is that if a guy is abusive, he has no heart to rip out.
