Things come to the light and Im beginning to see That no one is the same As they started to be
As things begin to change So do the people I know And though it shouldnt surprise me I still feel the blow
Its as if I'm in high school all over again The time when everyone pretended to be friends
The ferment in my heart is more than I can bear how can people be so cold as they pretend to care
why is it important to me to have people in my life why is it important when theyre all full of lies
but I'm no different for I have lied to them I havent been true Or been a real friend
The real me they havent seen The real me they dont know How do I expect that the real them would show
More than one person Thats whos inside For my real identity I cannot define
What defines me right now Is anger, bitterness and pain So much so I feel like I'm going insane
Ive been so disillusioned that I would believe That people could care What happens to me
Why should they care Why should they worry Its not their problem What inside I keep buried
Foolish I am for thinking That on anyone I can rely I will learn to depend Solely on. I

I think there are many of us who can relate to this. We all have doubts about who we are and who our friends are and sometimes, in this world full of people, we can be, or feel, extremely alone. Personally, I know how you feel, there are people in my life who I thought I knew and I thought knew me. I have realised that we never truly know anyone but we still need to have faith in each other to survive. It's a gamble, but isn't it worth it?
I liked how this progressed. I will say that somewhere in the middle the flow jumped out a little and a couple of the rhymes seemed a little forced, but that the end smoothed out nicely.
Hold on in there, ok? Some people are definitely worth the pain, don't let it hurt you beyond repair.
