A love that lasts is all I ask for
Someone to love me; nothing more
I've been hurt too many times before
I've been burnt, down to my very core
A faithful lover is all I want today
Someone to be with; someone to stay
And at night, someone who will lay
Right beside me.
Someone who won't hurt me is all that I crave
Someone to hold me; someone to save
My heart from death; from its grave
Someone to protect me, 'cause I am not brave
A decent chance is all that I want
It seems every man lives to cruelly taunt
And everytime I try, memories haunt
Rendering me helpless, with nothing to flaunt.
No one beside me.
Could there be anyone out there
'Cause this feels so incredibly unfair
No one even seems to care
And being alone, I cannot bear.
