I was reading about in a book and it talked of the cultural revolution in china, people there at one time frowned upon the teaching of western music, people would be punished by being put in chains, or shoved in a shed with other believesthese people went through so much and for what? For having something to believe in
Some have been beaten Some have died But many stand by their side
And for what? For believing In what you want But then youre caught
A higher power says youre not to do so They tell you youre thoughts have to go And for what?
Because its not what they want No matter how many they have beaten No matter how many have died There will be another to be at their side
To take their place To keep the pace Off their race to fight for their thoughts There will always be people to fight the fights that need to be fought
Revolutions, will be set in motion All because one died for his cause He set gave others emotion Power to fight by his side
If it is for the right No one could stop the fight A revolution set in motion Powered by raw emotion
Powered with the music of the soul So many people have went through so much And For what? For having something to believe in

I enjoyed reading this. This is such a powerful write. We should be allowed to believe in what we want as long as it doesn't conflict with the rights of others! Awesome poem! |
