Beggar's rights Delighting in the derelict occasion Marking the passing of another time Centuries old, but only recently acknowledged
I know somehow I do not belong in this festival
I am Queen of Egypt Tonight, my Coronation Though no longer of light, I truly do Not belong in this festival
The man inside a glass cage Looks out at the world As though it were the imprisoned spectacle
The shadow of my ancestors Plagues my mind in sleep
Some years later I have forgotten
Grass starts to whither Trees fade to skeletal monuments
On an unusually calm day, I am caught too close to an inviting tree
He leans over and whispers The words-the very words!- Turning a formerly pleasant creature to a monster:
The shame brought on by knowing The difference between two Opposing forces is not easily washed away
In masquerades our masks determine our Anonymity, which in turn Reveals the entirety of our scars, hidden.

That was pretty deep.
So many things stood out to me in this.
And it leaves me wondering of the inspiration for it and what it came from. I am finding many meanings in it. This one deserves a title though..."untitled" doesnt do it justice. |
