Too Hurt To Feel

The word came today; three of my friends have been slain
Riding in a jeep, they were hit by an IED,
Faceless bodies rest motionless
Close casket, bodies filled with glass fragments
So young, all in their 20s. sadness
Another friend lies in the hospital
With gunshot wounds to the shoulder and face
My soul is sinking into a dark, hateful place
Gave all and asked for nothing in return
They served their country, now their memory burns
I know the mission must go on, but I dont know if Im that strong
I want to cry as emptiness grips me from the inside
When will this war end, Id see the Chaplin
But that wont bring back my friends
Whats he going do anyway?
Tell me hes sorry, and ask me to pray
So where do I go from here
Ive lost a lot of me this past year
Thousand mile stare, wishing my friends were here
Cold and numb, too hurt to feel.

Awww Matt!! Big hugs to you.... I can't begin to imagine the pain you must be experiencing now. I am truly sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the families of these heroes....Be strong, my friend... and yes, cry if you must...

My dear, dear friend,
Words can never be enuff to ease the pain even tho you're in shock right now.
It breaks my heart to know that you have to deal with such trajudy so close to home. I don't know what it's gonna take to get you guys home where you belong. If did I would definently do it.
Just know that our hearts and prayers are with you.

dearest matt, im sooo sorry this happened, omg those poor kids!! you need to get out of there already, you've been there years, you have done your time, this incident makes me physically ill, bless their souls, and families, bless you matt, please come home,
