My self is always shuttered And its really only you Who plumbs the deep recesses Of my very tilted view
But are you a true comfort, A salve for rage and shame When those ever-deep recesses Are the place from where you came?

This is wonderfully provocative. There is a disturbing and yet expecting
question that rides throughout the piece. The emotion that bridges the
lines, fills the reader with an intense discontent. If we cannot find peace
within our own recesses, what hope do we really have?
This is exceptional. Two small verses, but they are so full. Excellent post.

I concur with Breezy
One can be harsh when the self is judging.. oneself.
Cheers I enjoyed this.

Superb choice of words here. I can really feel the edge of insanity trying to creep in. I don't exactly know what you're describing in the second stanza, but I think I like the abstract and mystery. That last question mark confuses me though. |
