Death of a Dream She laid dormant Staring and straining as the light in her eyes, fought frantically against the shape shifting Silhouettes Shackled deep within her shell; She cringed, loathing the chanting that never silenced Beckoning her into a hypnosis haze Muddleheaded; She sifted through the soot of a flame That once burned bright, Blinking back years of accumulated tears
Dousing all her labored love Denying all her dreams Smothering her soul
Self sacrificial coal is what this misplaced, misfit had become Her realms of reality, blurred and meshed Until her scarlet embers cooled to blackened Ash
