A time to say goodbye!!

Standing at her bed side
I reach and take her hand
hopeful that the doctor
can help us understand
He says she has a sickness
and she is gonna die
all that I could do
was hang my head and cry
It was such a shock
it took us by surprise
everything sunk in
and we all realized
We did our best to comfort her
we could,nt ease her pain
the sky turned misty gray
and it began to rain
As the family gathers
we all begin to pray
we ask you for a blessing
befor she goes away
Now her time has come
her spirits free to roam
as she waits for God
to come and take her home!!!!

| Nice, sweet and simple. Captures the moment beautifully. Strangely, the 'broken' line actually adds to the poem. |
